Project: Camera obscura At Laycock Abbey
Client: MAD RIVER
Design: 278 CReate
Processes: Metal fabrication

We worked alongside creative agency, Mad River, to create to create a full sized camera obscura to sit in the grounds of Laycock Abbey where William Henry Fox resided and famously used camera obscuras (albeit somewhat smaller) back in the 1800s.

This obscura however, was created large enough so that the public can physically stand inside and the obscura will project whatever image is being seen at that given time.

Built on a horse box chassis and fabricated by 278 create from scratch, this giant attraction can moved around and serves as a travelling interactive piece for the trust.
